Jordan Obita made his debut for the Uganda Cranes in a 3-0 loss to Cameroon in a friendly game played in Morocco.
He also featured in the one-all draw against Gambia in the second friendly played in Morocco.
Speaking to FUFA Media, Obita opens up, noting that he is eager to achieve more and succeed with the Uganda Cranes.
“I want to help make history. We want to do well in AFCON and most importantly, qualify for the World Cup in America next year,” Obita noted.
“I want to be part of the team that is remembered. The squad is very good. A lot of boys already know each other since many play locally,” he added.
Obita found it easy to join the Uganda Cranes fold because he found it honouring to represent his father’s country.
“When the coach got in touch with my football agent and asked whether I’d be interested. I said, Of course!” It’s a big honour to represent my dad’s country.”
According to the roving left back, the dad and family were incredibly proud and excited to see him on the final list.
Though the two games didn’t go to plan, Obita promises that there is a lot to build on as the Cranes prepare for the upcoming engagements.
