Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC has improved its technical team with the signing of Francis Mugerwa.
Mugerwa, a CAF A licensed coach is set to work with Steven Bogere as co-coaches with immediate effect.
The announcement was made today, Thursday, July 03, 2025 via the club’s official website.
“We are delighted to announce that Coach Francis Mugerwa has joined our technical team on a one-year renewable contract,” the statement partly reads.
According to the club, this is a well-calculated decision that underscores the club’s obligation to build a strong technical bench with a blend of tactical skills.
After joining Lugazi FC, Mugerwa is glad to work with his long term friend, Bogere to grow Lugazi which he termed as a big project.
“I am grateful for this opportunity. Coach Steven Bogere is a long term friend and Lugazi FC is a big project,” the website quotes.
“I could not turn down the chance of being part of it. The project here impressed me, it’s full of young players and I just working with them,” he added.
Mugerwa brings alot of experience in the top flight football having served as a coach at Proline FC, Maroons FC, Onduparaka FC, Kitara FC, Arua Hill SC and Bright Stars.
As a player, he represented the likes of Bell FC (1993), State House FC (1994/1995), SC Villa (1996/1999) and Kinyara Sugar Works FC (2004).
