With just 24 days to the start of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), several teams are working around the clock to furnish up the finer details in terms of training and preparations.

Tanzania, one of the co-hosts of the tournament have taken their preparations a notch higher buy going into a high intensity training camp in Cairo, Egypt.

The Taifa Stars departed Tanzania on Wednesday morning and will spend the next few days in Cairo.

Under the stewardship of coach Hemed Suleiman aka Morocco, the Taifa Stars provisional squad summoned last week is a blend of experience and youth.

The squad has perennial winners from both Yanga and Simba plus budding youngsters from the U20 National Team (Ngorongoro).

Upon return from Egypt, the team will then take part in the CECAFA Pre CHAN tournament that has South Sudan and other CHAN co-hosts Uganda and Tanzania. The games will be played in Arusha towards the end of this month.

Tanzania is in Group B at CHAN alongside Burkina Faso who they face in the opening game of the tournament on 2nd August plus Madagascar, Mauritania and Central African Republic.
