On 9th September 2025, football coach Abdallah Mubiru will celebrate a milestone in his life.
This will be a half century of life on the earth where he has wholesomely dedicated his entire life to football.
Virtually, Mubiru has been married to the beautiful game right from his earn teens as a budding player, the first division days at Diary, topflight times at KCC and the national team to now, an established coach.
In-between his career, he owned a column in “Bukedde” newspaper, and it had an obvious enviable bias for football.
Mubiru was officially unveiled as head coach for newly promoted Uganda Premier league entity Gaddafi Football Club on Tuesday, 15th July 2025 for a two-year tenure.
He was the best pick of the coaches who submitted their credentials when the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) run club officially publicized the job.
The highly experienced CAF “A” certified coach takes over the mantle from Robert “Kiyenje” Mukasa who led the club from the FUFA Big League.
Mubiru is a former Uganda Cranes international who played the defensive midfield role to perfection.
He coached his dear former school Kibuli S.S before he was hired by Mawogola Ssaza in the Buganda Masaza football competition. In 2012, he was signed up by Proline Football Club, his to commence the club football managerial journey.
He had his first stint at KCCA in 2014, switched to Vipers in 2016, Police (December 2016 to 2022), Mbeya City in Tanzania (2022-2023), served on the Uganda national team in various capacities under Micho and McKinstry and returned to KCCA in November 2023.
He now comes to Gaddafi Football Club, a newly promoted side with huge expectations.

The former Uganda Cranes coach appreciates the tactical nuances, intelligent passing of the ball, elegant execution that are often characterized by well executed on and off the ball movements.
He is also a strict disciplinarian, staunch believer in Allah and quite experienced having his latest duty station as Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) where he served alongside Kefa Kisala and Jackson Magera.
In Entebbe, the passionate residents anticipate exactly the same philosophy and restoration of hope to transform the home ground a no-go zone for the opposition.
Mubiru deserves the due flowers, full support of management, his entire dressing room and the fans’ fraternity coming to the pre-season to officially usher in the 2025-2026 season.

Work for Mubiru in Entebbe at Gaddafi commences immediately. He is expected to confirm his back-room staff in the coming days, steer the players’ recruitment process and embark on the grueling pre-season epoch to prepare the players physically, mentally, technically and tactically.
