Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy made a surprise visit to Guinea chan bound team camp and encouraged them to give everything on the pitch.
The forward, fresh from the FIFA Club World Cup made the revelation to the Local Syli Nationale who will face Uganda, Niger, South Africa and Algeria in Group C at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
“Stay focused and give everything on the pitch,” Guirassy told the players.
“This is a huge chance to show what Guinea is made of. Fight with pride and make the nation proud.”
Guinea’s best performance in the competition was in 2016 and 2020 when they reached the semi-final.
The side are camping in Morocco where they will take on Burkina Faso and Central African Republic on July 24 & 28 respectively.
Guirassy’s visit is expected to leave a lasting impact on the squad, many of whom look up to the Bundesliga star as a symbol of what is possible through hard work, focus, and love for country.
