Algeria National Team head coach Madjid Bougherra has named a provisional squad of 28 players ahead of African Nations Championship (CHAN) that gets underway in telve days.
The squad entered camp on Sunday and will embark on final preparations before moving to East Africa.
Headlined by CHAN 2022 top scorer Aymen Mahious, Algeria’s team features a strong representation from Algerian league champions MC Alger and runners-up CR Belouizdad, with six players each.
USM Alger follows with four call-ups, while JS Kabylie and CS Constantine contribute three players apiece. The rest of the squad is rounded out by representatives from ASO Chlef, ES Sétif, and Paradou AC.
Algeria is in Group C at CHAN 2024, alongside co-hosts Uganda, South Africa, Guinea, and Niger.
It should be noted that Algeria reached the final of the last edition when they hosted the tournament but lost to Senegal.
CHAN 2024 will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 2nd to 30th August.
