Overview:

The ceremonial start of the 2025 Africa Kwetu Fuel Economy Tour will be on 3rd September with the official start at Total Wampeewo on the subsequent day.

Rally enthusiasts will come together once again this September for the 2025 Africa Kwetu Fuel economy tour.

This tour will traverse several districts from the starting point in the capital city of Kampala, Hoima, Buliisa, Masindi to Fort Portal and back.

The total distance to cover will be 1300KM with the essence hinged around environmental protection, domestic tourism and road safety.

The official launch of this event was held at Hotel Africana in Kampala on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025.

The Africa Kwetu Fuel Economy Tour will encompass promotion of domestic tourism, road safety awareness, environmental protection, fuel economy focus and community engagement through the different stops in towns and communities; henceforth; fostering interaction between the different participants and local residents.

Through the Africa Kwetu fuel economy rally, the object is to promote domestic tourism by showcasing Uganda’s diverse landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage; responsible driving (obeying traffic laws) and encouraging safe driving practices throughout the rally. Through activities as tree planting and visiting natural reserves, the rally emphasizes the significance of environmental conservation. The aspect of fuel economy focus will also come into play to highlight the importance of fuel efficiency, in line with global motorsport governing body FIA’s objectives.

The Africa Kwetu fuel economy tour was initiated in the year 2020. It is more than a motorsport event but a platform for promoting sustainable tourism, responsible travel and environmental stewardship within Uganda.

The tree planting campaign is planned in Fort Portal city.

Other officials on the organizing committee include S. Senkatuka (route director), J. Kabagambe (deputy route director), Moses Ssenkungu (equipment manager Africa Kwetu), among others.

The ceremonial start will be on 3rd September 2025 with the official start at Total Wampeewo on the subsequent day.

Each crew is expected to pay Ug.Shs 600,000 for registration.
