Mali secured a dominant 75-49 victory against Cameroon in the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket encounter at Palais des Sports Arena on Monday.

Mali decisively defeated Cameroon to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the ongoing tournament.

Mali came into this game after struggling to beat South Sudan 55-53 in their opening fixture of the campaign.

Mali came out of the blocks early to create a nine-point (18-09) lead at the end of the opening period.

Jessica Thomas made a pull-up jumpshot to conclude the second quarter as Cameroon trailed by 15 points (20-35) going into the halftime break.

Coming from the locker rooms, Mali kept the foot on the gas pedal to extend their lead to 17 points (51-34) at the end of the third quarter.

In the final quarter, it was a one-way traffic as Mali secured a 26-point victory.

Sika Kone (15 points), Kaddia Maiga (13 points) and Brahima Sangare (10 points) led Mali’s scoring board in double digits.

Claude Belleke (14 points) and Jessica Thomas (13 points) were the only players to score in double digits for Cameroon.
