Overview:
Algeria faces Uganda on Monday, 4th August 2025 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole under floodlights (8 pm kick off).
On Friday evening, the national football team of Algeria for the home-based players arrived in Uganda for the belated CHAN 2024 tournament.
Traveling aboard Ethiopian Airlines, the delegation reached Entebbe International Airport at 7:30 PM and were taken through all the necessary immigration process before checking in.

Amid drumming and dancing by the Crane Performers, the visitors were received by the FUFA second vice president Dr. Talibu Aza who was flanked by the other members of the local organizing committee.
“It has been an interesting and warm reception” Dr Aza remarked. “We have received our visitors from Algeria well and introduced them to the Ugandan culture and dances” she added.

In sheer spirit of patriotism, the welcoming entourage had the Ambassador of Algeria to Uganda His Excellency Amokrane Mourad.
H.E Amokrane commended the level of hospitality accorded to his countrymen by the Ugandans.
“I happy for the hospitality showed to us. I hope that our national team will enjoy this and perform well” H.E Amokrane told the media in a flash interview.

The Algerian delegation checked into the awaiting bus before they were driven to Golden Tulip Hotel where they will be accommodated.
Algeria joins Niger and Guinea, the two first visiting countries in group C to come to Uganda.
South Africa is expected to arrive on Sunday morning.
Group C has hosts Uganda, Niger, Algeria, South Africa and Guinea, all accommodated in Kampala city.


Algeria faces Uganda on Monday, 4th August 2025 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole under floodlights (8 pm kick off).
This will be the second game on the day after Niger’s opener against Guinea at 5 pm.
This is the first time that three countries (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda) are co-hosting the CHAN championship.
CHAN only accommodates players who play in the domestic leagues of the participating countries.

A total of 19 countries will feature in the 8th edition of this tournament, brought forward from 2024 to 2025.
Major African and global broadcasters will beam the matches live for the duration of the competition.

The opening fixture between Tanzania and Burkina Faso, scheduled for Saturday, 02 August 2025, will be broadcast live at 20h00 local time (17h00 GMT / 19h00 CAT) and will mark the beginning of a month-long celebration of African football’s homegrown talent.
CAF traditional partners, beIN Sport, Canal+, New World TV and IMG will headline the list of broadcasters and rights holders.
