Uganda Cranes bounced back from defeat to Algeria by beating Guinea 3-0 at Namboole on Friday.

Reagan Mpande, Allan Okello and substitute Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored the goals for the co-hosts in a very improved performance.

Ismael Kiyonga rates the players on the day.

Joel Mutakubwa 6/10: Dealt with aerial balls in his area well. Made a few decent saves and commanded the backline with authority.

Gavin Kizito 6/10: No mistake like against Algeria and combined well with Okello on the right. Won the free kick for the first goal.

Herbert Achai 7/10: Started his first tournament game and defended resolutely. Nearly gave away a second half penalty only to be saved by VAR.

Rogers Torach 6/10: Handed the captain’s armband and rarely put a foot wrong.

Hilary Mukundane 7.5/10: A colossus at the back. Hard in the tackle, aerially brilliant. Booked.

Joel Sserunjogi 7/10: Created the first goal with a brilliant cross in the area.

Enock Ssebagala 6.5/10: Played in a more withdrawn role and didn’t disappoint like it was against Algeria.

Karim Watambala 7.0/10: Often opted for a shot than pass to a teammate especially in the first half but cleverly sent Ahimbisibwe through on goal for a third. Also set up Okello before he was fouled for second goal.

Jude Ssemugabi 5/10: Started as the lead centre forward. Huffed and puffed but with little impact on the game. Taken off in the second half.

Reagan Mpande 7.0/10: Set the tone with a brilliant headed goal despite being a surprise inclusion in the lineup. Right place, right time, perfect execution. Involved in the build up to the second goal.

Allan Okello 8/10: His goal from the penalty was never in doubt. Man of the match.

Substitutes

Patrick Kakande 5/10: Ran around with purpose and energy, but the final ball was lacking.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe 7/10: Sealed the victory with a composed finish after a very good run behind the defence.
