CHAN 2024 (Group A):

- Morocco 3-1 Zambia
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) recorded their second victory at the on-going CHAN 2024 championship with a 2-0 triumph over Angola in group A.
Two second half goals from Japhte Kitambala and Katumbwe Mokonzi scored for the two time CHAN champions.
Kitambala, a forward at Maniema football club opened the scoring business in the 58th minute.
St Eloi Lupopo’s defender Mokonzi got the second goal with 20 minutes to play.
This was the second victory for DRC having beaten Zambia 2-0 after their opening day blushes to the co-hosts Kenya.

This takes them to 6 points, same as Morocco with a game to play apiece against each other on 17th August at the Nyayo national stadium, Nairobi.
Morocco subjected Zambia to the third loss in a row with a comprehensive 3-1 victory at Nyayo.
Mohamed Hrimat, Oussama Lamlioui and Sabir Bougrine scored the three goals for Morocco.
Andrew Phiri got the consolation for the Zambians who are eliminated from the championship with a game left.
This was the second win for Morocco which takes them to six points, having also suffered a loss to co-hosts Kenya in the previous match.

Kenya still leads Group A with 7 points and will face the already ejected Zambia in their last match on 17th August 2025 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Nairobi.

Now in the 8th edition, the tournament is being played in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
This is the first time that three countries are co-hosting the CHAN tournament, a precursor to the AFCON 2027 championship that will also be staged in East Africa.
