Kyaggwe Ssaza advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup with two matches to play in the Muganzirwazza Group.

A 1-0 victory over a 10-man Mawogola ensured maximum points for Simon Peter Mugerwa’s coached side at the Bishops SS Mukono playground on Sunday, 24th August 2025.

Marvin Busuulwa scored a penalty for Kyaggwe’s lone goal in a game where teammate David Mugalu was named man of the match.

Mawogola’s Hassan Wasswa was sent off in the 80th minute.

Kyaggwe now has 18 points, six better than second-placed Kooki.

Ssingo (11), Kabula (8) and Butambala (6) are the other teams in Mugazirwazza Group.

The game between Ssingo and Butambala ended prematurely after the latter walked off the field of play, protesting Ssingo’s would-be equaliser in the 63rd minute.

Mawokota overcame visiting Bulemeezi 1-0 in Buwama. Mike Kasule scored the day’s goal. Kasule also earned the man of the match award.

The contest between Busujju and Buluuli ended goalless. Fred Muhanguzi of Buluuli was named man of the match.

Busiro earned maximum points with a hard-fought 1-0 win over the reigning champions Buddu at the Kitovu sports arena in Masaka city.

Bruhan Tusaba gave the visitors the early lead after 8 minutes, which was protected until the end of the game. Busiro’s Hamza Lutaaya was named man of the match.

Bugerere overcame Buweekula 2-1. Mike Katumwa and Henry Wamala netted for Bugerere whilst Alex Talemwa got the consolation for Buweekula. Katumwa (Bugerere) earned the man of the match accolade.

Kyaddondo humiliated islanders Buvuma 5-0. Abasi Muluya and Enock Ssekatawa each scored a brace for Kyaddondo whilst Ivorex Kalungi got the other. Muluya got the man of the match accolade.

Ssingo and Butambala shared the spoils in a one-all stalemate. Shaban Kayongo was on target for Ssingo, and Daniel Bakaki replied for Butambala.
