Less than twelve hours after rivals Villa and Vipers rejected new premier league reforms, and KCCA equally unhappy about the new format, Lugazi has also aired their concerns.
In a statement released on Tuesday August 26, 2025, the club was deeply concerned that none of their views was considered.
“We are also deeply concerned about the manner in which the reforms were passed. Although we actively submitted our proposals during the consultative meeting, it is evident that our views as the club were not considered.,” the statement partly read.
“It is equally concerning that new format was rushed into implementation without giving clubs necessary time to study it and critically evaluate its impact.
“We strongly believe that reforms of this magnitude shouldn’t be imposed hastily and must reflect inclusivity, fairness and transparency for the good of the game.”
Fufa is yet to react to the clubs’ objection of the new league reforms with the UPL going ahead to make draws for the league first round phase on Monday.
