Uganda Premier League outfit BUL FC has confirmed the signing of teenage striker Simon Achidi on a three-year deal.
The 19-year old has been unveiled by the Eastern Giants on Monday, becoming their fourth signing of the transfer window.
“BUL FC is pleased to announce the signing of youthful forward Simon Achidi on a three-year contract.” The team confirmed.
Achidi, who is still a student at Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) has shown sparks of brilliance especially with his school. This perhaps compelled the BUL FC technical team to sign him.
It should be noted that JIPRA serves as the feeder team to BUL FC and over the years, several youngsters have been promoted namely; Richard Okello, Swabir Mpasa, Shafik Nana Kwikiriza among others.
Coach Kikomeko believes Achidi has the potential to compete at the top level given his character.
“Achidi is a young, promising, and talented player. Our main goal is to develop younger players, and he joins a number of them from Jinja Progressive Academy, our main feeder school. I believe his character and attitude suit well in our team.” He said as quoted by the club website.
He becomes the fourth signing for BUL FC joining Cameroonian defender Kelvin Tah, goalkeeper Farouk Yawe and Lawrence Kambugu.
