Exactly two months after returning to SC Villa in the capacity of technical director, Moses Basena has been dismissed.

This was revealed to the public in a shocking letter signed by club President Ahmed Omar Mandela dated September 20, 2025.

“The management of SC Villa informs the club fans and public that Mr. Basena Moses who has been acting as the club’s Technical Director has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect,” read part of the statement.

Basena, a former Villa player and coach was appointed the club’s technical director on July 21, 2025.

Reasons for his early dismissal remain undisclosed but there are reports that he could be line for the Uganda Cranes assistant coaching job that currently has Sam Ssimbwa.

It should be noted that in June, SC Villa also part ways with Morley Byekwaso before he was named the Uganda Cranes coach for the CHAN team.

Villa have recently won the Fufa Super 8 under new Serbian coach Zeljko Kovacevic.
