Goalkeeper Tom Ikara has rejoined BUL FC on a two-year deal. The gangly shot-stopper returns to the Eastern Giants after a stint in Ethiopia with Sidama Buna.
“The 27-year-old shot-stopper has rejoined the Eastern Giants after a fruitful stint with Ethiopian side Sidama Buna where he played a pivotal role in helping the team clinch the Ethiopian cup.” The club confirmed.
Ikara played for BUL between 2022-2024 before moving to Ethiopia. He returns to fill a void left by Joel Mutakubwa who chose not to renew his stay at the club.
The other new goalkeeper at the club is Farouk Yawe who recently joined from Kitara FC.
Ikara is happy to return to BUL and hopes he can help the team reach its targets.
I’m excited to come back home. BUL FC is like a family to me. I feel safe and at home. I’m here to improve the team’s status from where I left it to a higher momentum and make sure we win a lot of trophies. I call upon the fans to come support the team and rally behind us so that we can achieve our targets.” He said as quoted by the club website.
Besides Ikara and Yawe, BUL FC has also signed Seri Arigumaho, Simon Achidi, Lawrence Kabungu and Kevin Tah.
