Overview:

Both players were overlooked during the previous international break with Oyirwoth last featuring on match day two against Somalia in Morocco.

Uganda Cranes coach Paul Joseph Put revealed why he recalled midfielders Bobosi Byaruhanga and Allan Oyirwoth ahead of the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers final matches.

Both players were overlooked during the previous international break with Oyirwoth last featuring on match day two against Somalia in Morocco.

“Bobosi has shown that he can play in different positions – defence, defensive midfield, attacking midfield – he is talented and reliable,” said Put.

“For Oyirwoth, hopefully what we hear is true that some European teams want him. That’s what we want but first, let him prove himself on the national team.”

The duo will compete for places in the starting XI with skipper Khalid Aucho, Kenneth Ssemakula, Ronald Ssekiganda and Enock Ssebagala.

Uganda will face Botswana and Algeria on October 9 and 14 respectively aiming to pick maximum points to enlighten qualification chances.

  1. A midfield two of Allan and Bobosi is what Uganda needs, the two can dominate games with a lot of confidence. That will be completed with Okello in the no. 10 role
Attack will go with Regan Mpande on left Mato right and Ikpaezu leading the line.
Normal defense line of Elio, Obita, Kayondo and Sibbick
And prefer Salim in the goal post for a game development from the back
