Jubilee Insurance officially flagged off a team of 100 cyclists to represent the nation at the Jubilee Live Free Race powered by Grand Nairobi Bike Race (GNBR).

The event will be held on Sunday, 5th October 2025 at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium, with over3,500 participants expected from over 20 nationalities across the world.

Jubilee Live Free Race is an annual cycling extravaganza, celebrated for promoting cycling and championing pressing societal issues.

This year, the event will advance mobility by providing prosthetic arms and limbs for children living with amputations and promote environmental stewardship through the planting of food towers in community schools.

It will also encourage holistic wellness by fostering physical health and financial freedom across participating communities.

While speaking during the flag off, Jubilee Life Insurance CDO Linda Byaruhanga noted the power of sport in creating opportunities for positive behavioral change in communities.

Sport has a unique power to bring people together, inspire action, and shape healthier habits. As our cyclists fly the national flag, we wish them the very best in the race. Through the Jubilee Live Free Race, we are not only celebrating cycling but also promoting active, healthy lifestyles while encouraging individuals to prioritize their physical and mental wellbeing.

She also noted the similarity between cycling and financial planning, highlighting discipline, consistency, and foresight, and expressed delight in having a Ugandan team represented at the event.

“We are thrilled to have a team representing us for the third consecutive year. We are proud to note that our team consistently secures podium finishes, and we are optimistic that this year will be no different. Beyond competition, this is a fantastic opportunity to come together through sport, to engage with communities, and to make financial planning both accessible and relatable for everyone,” said Dorcus.

The Jubilee Live Free Race will feature various categories including the Main Race (75 km), Team Race (75 km), Black Mamba (45 km), Para Cyclists (45 km), Family Fun Ride (15 km), and Kiddie Race (1 km).

Winners across competitive categories will receive cash prizes totaling UGX 107.3 million, along with in-kind recognition.

Ahead of the race, one of the cyclists expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to compete, emphasizing the importance of Jubilee Insurance’s support.

“We are grateful to Jubilee Insurance for giving us an opportunity to compete the Jubilee Live Free Race. We are prepared to give our best and are optimistic about achieving a positive outcome. We also look forward to interacting with cyclists from other parts of the world,” said Ismael.
