Onduparaka FC and Wakiso Giants FC recovered from their dismal start to the 2025/26 FUFA Big League season on matchday one to get to the wining trail this weekend.

On the opening day of the season, Onduparaka lost 2-0 away to Blacks Power in Lira. However, the Caterpillars were able to secure maximum points today against Iganga United.

In the game played at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua, substitute Eric Junior Akol scored the lone goal, coming two minutes after the hour mark.

Wakiso Giants FC on the other hand had lost 3-2 to newcomers Young Elehpants but the Purple Sharks were victorious in matchday two, defeating Kiyinda Boys 2-0 in Gayaza.

Duncan Sseninde and Substitute Samuel Nsubuga scored a goal each for Wakiso Giants to bag their first win of the season.

In the other games played on Sunday, Soltilo Bright Stars recovered from two goals down to salvage a point against CATDA FC.

Kevin Tevin Kyeyune and Isaac Kiberu gave CATDA a 2-0 lead at the break but Bright Stars fought back in the second half with Opio and Arafat getting the goals.

Elsewhere Kigezi HomeBoyz played out a 1-1 draw with Kaaro Karungi while Bunyaruguru got better of Kataka FC with a 1-0 scoreline.

The game between Mbale Heroes and Paidha Blacks Angels was halted due to heavy rain in the 65th minute and will resume for the remaining minutes on Monday.

By the time of the stoppage, Mbale Heroes were leading 1-0 courtesy of Akram Muzanyi’s first half penalty.

Matchday Two will conclude on Wednesday with Nebbi Central hosting Blacks Power at the Luo Ground.
