Legislator and player representative, Geoffrey Kayemba Solo has called upon the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) to reconsider the league reforms.

The call was made public through a document released on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

“My attention has been drawn to altercation between the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and a couple of Uganda Premier League clubs, to be particular Vipers and SC Villa over reforms in top flight particularly,” the statement stated.

“Whereas the reforms by the FA may be intended for good reasons. It looks as though there were not through consultations and engagements with stakeholders including club owners as raised by Dr Lawrence Mulindwa and Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela,” it added.

Kayemba advised that all parties conviene for an urgent dialogue before the league reforms sprouts into more damage.

The football community is divided into several factions regarding the league reforms, with some supporting and others opposing the changes.

The legislator highlighted the increasing negativity among fans who have threatened to boycott due to FUFA’s silence regarding their demands.
