UCU Lady Canons has forced a game five in the best-of-five series of the National Basketball League Playoffs Semifinals.

UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 65-50 victory against JKL Lady Dolphins in the ongoing NBL Playoffs encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.

Lady Canons game into the with one life left in the bag since a loss would end their chance at the finals.

The Mukono-based side staged a great defensive plan that kept Lady Dolphins’ best players at bay as they struggled through the game.

Sylivia Nantongo’s jump shot got the game underway before the Lady Dolphins took charge, thus opening a 10-point lead (20-10) at the end of the first period, thanks to Hope Akello’s two 3-point shots.

The Canons limited the Lady Dolphins to only five points in the second quarter as they took a five-point (30-25) lead into the halftime break.

Coming from the break, the Lady Canons kept their foot on the gas pedal as they extended the lead to seven points (43-36) at the end of the third quarter.

Hajara Najjuko’s 3-point jump shot put the icing on the cake as the Lady Canons secured a 15-point victory on the day.

Martrina Anyango (17 points and 16 points), Sylivia Nakituuka (11 points) and Shila Lamunu (10 points) led the Canons chart in double digits.

On the other hand, only Hope Akello reached the double digits, scoring 15 points for the JKL Lady Dolphins.
