The Lady Cranes have, over time, sealed their place in the top 4 of the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s championship.
Last year, they finished 3rd in the same competition that was held in Accra, Ghana, but this year, they hope to do one better.
With record holders the South Africa Blitzbok Women and the Kenya Lionesses all gunning for top honours at the continental showpiece, the Lady Cranes have an uphill task ahead of them.

To surmount these top sides, the Lady Cranes have embarked on early preparations under the stewardship of seasoned tactician Charles Cyphus Onen.
Onen has maintained the 12 players he travelled with to the Safari 7s, but has also added the players who didn’t make the tournament squad.
In addition to not suffering any major injuries at the Safari 7s, the Lady Cranes’ set-up has received an extra boost with the return of former skipper, Peace Lekuru.

Lekuru, who has turned her attention to Rugby League at the York Valkyrie in the Betfred Women’s Super League in England, brings a breadth of experience and leadership to the squad.
The squad remaining unchanged signals stability for the team, a factor that can come into play when they go to the RFUEA Grounds along Ngong Road in Nairobi, Kenya, on the weekend of November 15 & 16.
Provisional Squad: Agnes Nakuya (Captain), Lydia Namabiro (Vice Captain), Yvonne Najjuma, Fazira Namukwaya, Suzan Adong, Grace Nabaggala, Juliet Nandawula, Sandra Lona Amoli, Tina Akello, Comfort Anganyika, Racheal Mufuwa, Janat Nandudu, Samiya Ayikoru, Maimuna Nassozi, Nambozo Mastula, Peace Lekuru, Unity Namulala, Esther Tino.
