Zambia National Team Head Coach Moses Sichone has released the provisional squad for the Chipolopolo ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sichone made a surprise inclusion of players from the Zambia U17 team that recently featured at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar. These include: Jonathan Kalimina, Abel Nyirongo and Christo Chitambala.

21-year-old defender Jadel Chanda Katongo who plays for Manchester City is part of the provisional squad. Whereas he is yet to feature for Zambia, the defender who has played for England underage teams, has expressed interest in switching nationality.

It should be noted that CAF made 24th November the deadline for every team that will compete at AFCON to submit their provisional squads with a maximum of 50 players.

The squads will then be trimmed to 28 players, with the final lists expected to be confirmed by 11th December 2025.

Zambia is in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Comoros and Mali.
