Media personality Macknon “Owakarejukamwe” Akampurira, a popular figure in Ntungamo district recently resigned at Thunder FM where he had diligently worked for over two years.
Like fate would dictate, the 26-year-old who is fluent in Runyankole- Rukiiga languages is now at 99.3 Radio Ankole.
Akampurira commences official duties on Saturday, 20th December 2025 with a live football commentary between Newcastle and Chelsea in the English Premier League, alongside Kakama Odongo Tabaro.
“I am happy for the fresh opportunity and ready to serve to the best of my fans’ expectations” he spoke of the new opportunity.
Akampurira’s smooth flowing commentary is lively, engaging, spot-on and well researched.
Previously, he has worked for a number of radio stations in Ntungamo District as Arms FM, Bethel FM, Mpororo FM and lately Thunder FM.
Besides radio commentary, Akampurira is also the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for all Ntungamo Arsenal Associations fans, a body that has so far saved Ug.Shs 28,000,000 in savings.
Akampurira has been also the PRO for Ntungamo district during the prestigious Ankole football championship.
