It is a goal-less half time at the Stade De Marrakech during the third quarter final duel between Algeria and Nigeria in the AFCON 2025 at Stade De Marrakech.
Nigeria Super Eagles have been the better side by far with more chances created, thus none has been converted.
The Super Eagles commenced the game on a high note when Semi Ajayi headed over a free-kick an Ademola Lookman delivery from the right in the second minute.
Nigeria won two successive corner kicks under seven minutes with skipper Victor James Oshimen heading out closing in one of the deliveries.
FC Twente midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki became the first Algerian player to be booked on the quarter hour mark for a foul.
Lookman shot straight at goalkeeper Luca Zidane in the 23rd minute as Nigerian’s dominance continued.
There was a second yellow card to Algeria to Mohamed Amoura for a foul and the Wolfsburg forward will miss the next match.
Nigerians questioned the referee Issa Sy for not allowing a Lookman shot that was cleared above the goalline.
Adams Akor curled over from close range after being set up by Alex Iwobi in the 37th minute.
The second half returns shortly and both countries are fighting for a killer punch.
There are plenty of options on the respective benches coming to the final 45 minutes and a possible an extra 30 minutes incase of a stalemate.
The winner between Nigeria and Algeria will face hosts Morocco during Wednesday’s semi-final showdown.
