Lugazi ended BUL’s dominance over them in a hard-fought victory in Najjembe.
Lugazi secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory against BUL in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Lugazi Stadium, Najjembe on Tuesday.
The game started at a slow pace as both sides preferred to build from the back and find the right rhythm.
In the 15th minute, the first chance of the game came through Freedom Mungudit, who broke away, but his effort was blocked. David Bagoole was in the right position to take up the rebound but he placed the ball slightly above the crossbar.
Ten minutes later, BUL broke the deadlock through Mungudit who nodded into the back of the net from close range.
Coming from the break, BUL levelled matters through Abdul Karim Ndugwa thus bringing back life in the boring game.
Mungudit came close to regaining Lugazi’s lead after powerfully hitting the frame. The rebound fell in the path of Paul Busolo, who curled it out.
With six minutes to play, Busolo guided the ball into the back of the net thus placing the hosts in the driving seat.
The victory takes Lugazi in the 11th position with 14 points while BUL lies ninth with 16 points after playing 14 league games.
