A group of cricketers travelled to Kigali and featured in three cricket games against select sides in Kigali as part of a new routine that brings together cricketers past and present.
The social group comprised of cricketers who met as junior cricketers during Schools Cricket but after their education, most picked up careers that took them away from the game, but never the passion for the game.
The group played three games in Kigali at the IPRC Ground, winning two games, with the third game washed out just before the conclusion of the 1st innings.
In a strong show, the side chased down a paltry 75 in the first game before facing a steep challenge in the second game, defending 135 runs in a 3-run win against a resilient Silverbacks side.

For some of the travelers this was their first time across the border and for others, this was a return to a place where they started their social careers. Rwanda Cricket and Cricket Uganda are connected at the hip, with the latter being of great significance in the development of the game in Rwanda, which all started with initiatives such as these.
However, Cricket has taken root in Rwanda and the game is growing among the locals very fast. The game is firmly grounded in the capital Kigali, with at least two proper international grounds at the IPRC and at the Gahanga, which has become the home of cricket in Rwanda, with the spread of the game also reaching places outside of Kigali.
A historical visit for the Cow Corner group and which starts something that has the potential to do a lot of good, the hard work will be keeping everyone interested.
