Icy Springs Water CEO Romio shows off a certificate at Lugogo Indppr Arena

In this day and age, any close associate who boldly accepts to partner with a brand is always appreciated to the brim.

The offer provided could be material (in kind), a service or even financial; it remains much appreciated.

As the Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) organised the 2026 Kateregga Memorial Schools and Institutions Table Tennis championship at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, several partners offered to work with the body.

Legacy Productions, School Pay, Ice Springs Water, NCS, Uganda Olympic Committee and others were readily available with various offers.

Ice Springs Water offered all the water to the players, and players as they were the official hydration partners.

Cyrus Mark Muwanga, president of UTTA lauded these different sponsors that made the event a success.

“Table Tennis is one of the biggest sports in Uganda at the moment. Last year, Uganda played at the Africa Nations finals. I thank all the partners who have offered to work with us at this very championship and others going forward,” Muwanga pointed.

All the sponsors received specially branded certificates of appreciation as the 2026 Kateregga Memorial Schools and Institutions Table Tennis Championship successfully climaxed at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala on Sunday, 1st March.

Over 300 players from primary, secondary and universities were actively engaged in the three-day tranquil event organised by UTTA, making a return to the domestic calendar after a decade.

The climax was graced by the chairperson of the National Council of Sports (NCS), Ambrose Tashobya, who lauded the different actors involved in this sport: administrators, players, coaches, umpires and parents.

“I like being part of events that involve very young people, like Table Tennis,” Tashobya remarked.

“Table Tennis is a sport critical for young athletes, for agility and general body reflex. The National Council of Sports is fully aware of the great work by UTTA. We recognize the achievements domestically, continentally and on the international level. I applaud the coaches and players. We need each other to grow sports in Uganda. It is a joint effort. We shall continue to support Table Tennis,” he hinted.
