Vipers Sports Club returned to the summit of the Uganda Premier League following a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Lugazi on Tuesday night.
Defender Rogers Torach Ochaki, Arafat Usama Kiza and Odili Chukwuma scored the goals for the Venoms, all in the first half.
Vipers were forced into an emergency change when midfielder Tadeo Lwanga collided with Joseph Othieno in the 9th minute.
His place was taken over by Paul Patrick Mbowa as the hosts reorganised their house.
Torach opened the scoring business with a 40-yarder that caught goalkeeper Muhammad Kakooza napping.
Ten minutes later, Usama struck beautifully, almost from the same range as Torach, as Vipers stamped their authority onto the game.
Winger Chukwuma scored the third goal after a fierce shot on the near post of goalkeeper Kakooza as Vipers led 3-0 with comfort heading to the break.
The second half did not produce any goals despite attempts by the two sides.
Vipers return to the league summit with 41 points, two better than Kitara, who overcame Entebbe UPPC 2-0 earlier at the Butema Playground in Hoima.
