Kitara have a second opportunity to exchange top spot with Vipers when they visit relegation candidates UPDF at Bombo on Friday.
Wasswa Bbosa’s men head into the game in second place with 39 points, two adrift of Vipers who are not in action until the following day.
They are buoyed by the 2-0 win over resilient Entebbe UPPC but Bbosa is aware of the threat UPDF, despite their struggles in the premier league so far understands how tough a place Bombo is to get maximum points.
“Bombo isn’t an easy place to get results,” Bbosa said. “UPDF might be struggling, but we need a performance to stay in this title fight.
“We’re going there focused solely on getting the points we need.”
UPDF are second from bottom with just 12 points and need victory to keep their survival hopes alive.
