Lira University overcame visiting Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 2-1 in group D of the 2025/26 Pepsi University Football League on Wednesday, 11th March 2026.

Huzaifah Kihumuro and Emmanuel Okeng scored for the home side as MUBS’ consolation came from Brian Katete.

Kihumuro opened the scoring business for Lira University in the 55th minute.

The joy was short-lived as Katete found the equalizer for MUBS 6 minutes later.

Okeng grabbed the headlines with a last-minute gasp winner in the second minute of added time as Lira University attained maximum points in their first victory of the campaign.

Meanwhile, in the same group St Lawrence University edged Gulu University 1-0 to qualify for the knock out stage.

There are three matches lined up on Thursday, 12th March 2026 at the different venues in Bugema, Kansanga and Mbarara.
