Buffaloes are the latest side to sit at the top of the Uganda Rugby Championship, becoming the fourth side to occupy the position across the 7 Game Weeks played so far.
After receiving a thrashing from the Menengai Oilers in Nakuru, the Buffaloes turned their attention to the local championship, aiming to make history.
This season, the Buffaloes have filled the void left by the diluted Jinja Hippos, who had become a 15s powerhouse in the Top 4, going as far as challenging for the title last season.
The Buffaloes have amassed 29 points, thanks to monumental wins like beating the Heathens in the Kyadondo derby and putting 50 points past the troubled Warriors over the weekend.

However, this lead is only slim, as the Black Pirates are right behind them with 28 points. The chasing pack isn’t so far off, with the KOBs and Mongers all still within touching distance of the top.
History has proven that the side that finishes the regular season top of the table goes on to win the league, as evidenced by the Heathens and Black Pirates.
Should the Buffaloes maintain their stay at the top of the log, that would be only half the job done, but with a bit of precedence and lady luck, this could be it.
