The Gen MK 52 Run is organized to celebrate the 52nd birthday for the first son of Uganda, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, also the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

The Gen MK 52 Run is organized to celebrate the 52nd birthday for the first son of Uganda, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, also the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
This run will be held on Sunday, 26th April 2026 with the start and finishing points at Kololo Independence ceremonial grounds in Kampala.
The theme for this run is “Run for charity, Run for Hope” with the proceeds arising from the kits sale intended to be channeled towards under privileged vulnerable children and baby homes across Uganda.
The run is organized by the Patriots club under the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).
The run will entail different distances to be covered ranging from 5KM, 10KM and 21 KM (half marathon), starting as early as 7 AM and will end by noon.
Leisure and professional runners are all expected to take part in this run.
“The MK Run 52 is a humanitarian initiative as well as a social responsibility campaign that acts as a bridge between the leadership and grassroots communities, framing leadership from celebration to service delivery” Daudi Kabanda, a key figure in the organizing this run hints.
The excelling runners per category will be given prizes.
There will be entertainment in form of music and cultural performance from the country’s leading artists.
General Muhoozi has confirmed to be the chief runner.
Running kits are available at Shell Kisaasi, Bukoto Road, Serena Hotel, PLU Headquarters in Naguru and Kololo Independence Grounds.
The running kits cost Ug.Shs 20,000 per person.
