Blacks Power earned a huge boost in their bid to earn promotion to the Uganda Premier League after overcoming Bunyaruguru United on Sunday at Ebenezer University Ground.

The Lira-based outfit cruised to a 3-0 win, a result that took them top of the pile on 45 points, the same as second-placed Kigezi Homeboyz.

Ivan Okello, Rajab Fazil and Emmanuel Janan Oketch scored a goal each to guide Blacks Power to victory.

With five games to go, the race for the four promotion slots is tight, and thus victory or loss could have far-reaching significance.

Blacks Power will visit Soltilo Bright Stars next before hosting Nebbi Central and visiting Kigezi Homeboyz in a game that is expected to carry a lot of meaning.

The final two games will see Blacks Power host Mbale Heroes and end the season away to Onduparaka.
