Western Region League 2025-26:
- Rwampara Bulls 0-4 SC Volcanoes
Sports Club Volcanoes (Mutolere) won the 2025-26 Western Regional league following a comprehensive 4-0 victory on the road over Rwampara Bulls at the Kinoni playground in Rwampala district.
Cleopus Fiat, Julius Lukyamuzi, Ronald Muhirwe and captain Alex Mandela were on target for Patrick Ochan’s coached side.
Fiat opened the scoring business as early as the 9th minute.
Lukyamuzi added the second two minutes to the half hour mark thanks to Francis Ndawura’s assist.
Five minutes later, Ndawura again set up Muhirwe for the third goal as the visitors led 3-0 by the mandatory half time recess.
Upon resumption, skipper Mandela struck with a set piece for the fourth goal on the evening.

Volcanoes now have 45 points, with an enviable 39 goals scored. Six O’Clock has 33 points following their none-scoring stalemate with Makenke Barracks and cannot reach the leaders even if they falter in any of their remaining games.
Rwampara Bulls are third with 25 points.
Rwampara Bulls’ head coach, Bbaale Siraj Ssendyowa, admitted it was not his team’s day despite a spirited performance.
His counterpart Patrick Ochan at SC Volcanoes hailed the team’s performance and consistency.
“Picking up three points, scoring four goals, and keeping a clean sheet is a big milestone for us. We are now champions and have secured a playoff slot. There is good competition within the squad which will help us improve in all areas as they prepare for the playoffs.” Ochan, a former Uganda Cranes international remarked.
Club president Dr. Martin Mbonye also applauded the team’s effort and consistency, emphasizing the importance of continued hard work as they approach the next stage.
He confirmed that the league trophy is expected to be handed over during their upcoming home derby against Gorilla Highlands SC at Mashaka Playground on 9th May pending FUFA’s confirmation.
