Uganda U17 Men’s National Team wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming AFCON U17 with yet another win on Thursday, edging Mali 1-0

Arafat Ibanda came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner thus guiding Uganda to victory.

In the Pre-AFCON tournament that was staged in Casablanca, Morocco, Uganda Cubs have come through perfect, winning both games. They defeated Mozambique 3-1 in the first game.

Uganda will shift from Casablanca to Rabat where the final tournament will be held.

Under the stewardship of coach Laryea Kingston, the ultimate target for Uganda is to qualify to the World Cup. It should be noted that the top two teams in each of the four groups earn direct tickets to the World Cup while the other two slots are determined via a playoff.

Uganda is in Group B alongside Ivory Coast, Cameroon and debutants DR Congo.

The team will start the tournament on 14th May against DR Congo, face Cameroon two days later and wrap up group business against Ivory Coast on 19th May.
