Overview:
The Buvuma Island Charity Marathon is organized by the Tokens of Life Uganda, in conjunction with Buvuma Youths Apostolate, riding along the theme; “Run for Maternal Health”.

The cool breeze off Lake Victoria on the island of Buvuma, off Buikwe District, will blow onto the runners during the 2026 Buvuma Island Charity Marathon this Friday, 29th May.
Runners will manoeuvre through the fresh natural rainforests, as they negotiate through the lowlands, hills and valleys.
This will be the uniqueness of the marathon as different people shed a sweat for the right cause, raising funds for better maternal health on the Buvuma island.
This marathon will be happening for the third year running, and it will take place on an odd day, Friday, 29th May 2029, with the start and finishing point at Namunyolo playground, commencing as early as 7 AM.
The Buvuma Island Charity Marathon is organised by the Tokens of Life Uganda, in conjunction with Buvuma Youths Apostolate, riding along the theme, “Run for Maternal Health”.
There are different categories for this marathon, to include 10KM, 21KM (Half marathon) and the main 42 KM (full marathon).
Kits for the runners go for Ug. Shs 15,000 with the proceeds realised directed towards the improvement of maternal health services at the Buvuma Health centre.
Payments can be executed via Airtel Pay (*185*9# – 6831520) and MTN Pay (*165*3# – 486143).
The island community residents of Buvuma, friends from the neighbouring Nyenga, Buikwe, Mukono, Jinja, Kampala and other areas are all expected to be part of this noble cause.
Charity aside, the Buvuma Island charity marathon will also present an opportunity for the runners to fine-tune their bodies and keep fit (healthy) with the right exercise.
