Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club held the table leaders, Vipers, to a one-all draw at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Ronald Otti scored for URA, and Arafat Kiza Usama replied for the Venoms.
The visitors silenced the home crowd when defender Ronald Otti jumped high to a great free-kick delivery from Isma Mugulusi past goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu in the 35th minute.
The tax collectors remained dominant as John Innocent Kisolo tested Vipers Kiggundu from distance, but the shot stopper tamed the effort.
Vipers returned energised for the final 45 minutes with a mission to fight before the home fans.
The much-desired equaliser arrived in the 49th minute through Arafat Usama’s header following an effort from Hilary Mukundane that rattled off the crossbar after an initial long throw-in by Ashraf Mandela.
URA lost defender Bright Joseph Vuni, who pulled a muscle.
The hosts called for a double change on the hour mark. Yunus Junior Sentamu and Glodi Beyuku were introduced for Odili Chukwuma and Gusto Mulongo, respectively.
Abdul-Karim Watambala shot off target from a free kick in the 67th minute before URA made a double change with Fred Amaku coming on for Bruno Bunyaga, and George Masembe replaced the lively Joseph Ssemujju.
