Mvara SS under the tutelage of former Uganda Cranes striker Caesar Samson Okhuti sealed their slot into the knockout stages of the ongoing USSSA Boys Football Championship on Tuesday evening, with a game to spare.

They had to dig deep to secure maximum points against Iganga Parents SS as the two teams faced off on Tuesday at Lango College Playground.

The West Nile outfit had a sloppy start that saw them trail courtesy of David Mugerwa’s strike that gave Iganga Parents the lead.

However, a spirited from the Okhuti coached side, pushed by their cheering fans saw Mvara stage a comeback and eventually win 2-1.

Eric Alafi Lumago found the equalizer before Edgar Omaki grabbed the winner to guide Mvara to their second win in as many games. It should be noted that they had beaten Muzza Christian High School 2-1 on Monday.

The win means Mvara top group J on six points and face Bristol Secondary School in their final group game on Wednesday.
