Kyadondo Rugby Grounds is going to host two quarterfinal playoffs in a highly anticipated double-header outing.

Heathens and Buffaloes shall face off against the Sharks and Mongers, respectively, with the home teams going into the return fixtures with slim advantages.

For the neutral fans, this game day presents an opportunity to watch two competitive encounters at the price of one.

The Buffaloes left Entebbe with a four-point lead after defeating the Mongers 22-18. Buffaloes had to come from 10 points behind at the break to claim the victory, thanks to tries from David Bajjananseko, Meddy Abdallah and Leonard Ndiku.

Heathens, on the other hand, left Kyambogo with the win against Sharks, despite not scoring any tries. That 6-0 win came down to the Sharks not utilising their points scoring opportunities, something they should have worked on this week. Malcom Okello’s boot was the difference on the day, despite Sharks dominating every aspect of the game.

This Saturday is going to be a test of home advantage for the Kyadondo teams. Heathens had a comfortable 30-5 win in the regular league against Sharks, while Buffaloes weathered Mongers’ first-half resilience to ease into a 24-11 home fixture that was played away at the Graveyard in Makerere.

Stakes are high for Buffaloes, Sharks and Mongers to make it to their maiden semifinal playoff, and the odds are looking good for the teams.

However, Heathens risk not reaching a stage of the competition that they have successfully reached the final in, then the semifinal, and now, a quarterfinal exit if the trend continues in that trajectory.
