Abdallah Mubiru has reflected on what has largely been a successful maiden season with Entebbe UPPC.
The gaffer guided the club to 6th position amassing 51 points in their first season in the topflight since rebranding from Gaddafi.
Speaking after his side hammered visiting BUL 4-0 at Bugonga on the final day of the season, the ex-Vipers and KCCA head coach was grateful to all stakeholders.
“First, we are grateful to God for enabling us finish the season without much hiccups,” he started. “And we are happy to become the first newly promoted side to get to 50-plus points in the UPL history so we have done well in that regard,” he added.
“But we couldn’t achieve that feat without the backing of the management right from the Patron, MD of the UPPC, finance department, the club chairperson, technical staff, the players and all staff that have supported us all through the season.”
The former Uganda Cranes coach, nominated alongside Jacky Ivan Minnaert, a league champions with Vipers, Villa’s Zeljko Kovacevic and NEC’s Badru Kaddu was however hurt not to win any silverware.
“Sadly, we didn’t get our first target of winning any silverware but what we have done shows we are on the right path and preparations for next season start now.”
Meanwhile, Entebbe UPPC also collected the most clean sheets from the matches played; 16 alongside NEC.
