Uganda Premier League side, Lugazi FC has on Tuesday announced the appointment of Abbey Kikomeko Bogere as their new head coach on a two-year deal.
The Leaders confirmed Kikomeko alias Capello will take charge of the team with immediate effect.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Abbey Kikomeko Bogere as the head coach of the senior men’s team. He begins his duties immediately having signed a two-year contract with the Leaders. His backroom staff will be communicated in the due process.” Reads part of the statement from the club website.
Kikomeko replaces Simon Peter Mugerwa who parted ways with the club at the end of the season, helping them to survive relegation.
The new head coach could not hide his delight and expressed readiness ahead of his new task.
“I feel excited after being appointed the Lugazi FC head coach. It’s a good club with good facilities, and very organised. I have been watching the team play, I have been seeing its organisation, and this enticed me to take up the opportunity.” He said.
Kikomeko has previously coached Busoga United, MYDA FC and BUL among others.
