This weekend, Kabalega SS’ sports star glowed brightly during the 2026 Bunyoro zonal qualifiers for the USSSA U-17 football championship.

By close of business, Kabalega S.S triumphed after a spirited 1-0 victory over Kitara S.S in the final at the Samagi grounds, Duhaga.

Ceaser Fauzu was the hero with the all-important goal.

Kabalega SS had in the semi-finals ejected Panyadoli S.S 2-0 and skipped past Kisiita Modern 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

They had been pooled in Group A of the Bunyoro zone where they had two none-scoring stalemates against St Adolf and Buhanika.

During the Masindi district, Kabalega SS was unscratched, scoring nine goals as they conceded none in three-out-of-three duels.

Led by Alfred Bamuturaki, the Games Master-cum-head coach, Kabalega S.S was ruthless winning 5-0 over Bright High, 3-0 victors over Christian High and 1-0 against Kihuuba.

All the featured players for Kabalega S.S are vivid products emerging from the FUFA Schools of Excellence Program.

Focus now turns to preparations for the 2026 USSSA Ball Games 2 in Gulu city where the football U-17 event is among the rich menu of games.

For starters, Kabalega S.S is a Government-aided secondary school, named after former Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom ruler; Omukama Kabalega Chwa II.
