Uganda Premier League outfit Lugazi FC has on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Bashir Ssemuyaba as their new assistant coach.
Bastu as he is commonly known around the football circles will deputize Abbey Kikomeko Bogere who was recently confirmed as the new head coach.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ssemuyaba Bashir alias Bastu to our coaching staff as the senior team’s Assistant Head Coach after signing a two-year contract with Lugazi FC on Tuesday.” Confirms the club through a statement.
Last season, Ssemuyaba was at URA working alongside Hussein Mbalangu but they were recently let go of by the Tax Collectors.
He has also served as assistant coach at NEC FC and Mbarara City in recent years.
At Lugazi, besides Kikomeko, the technical team also has Denis Kizito as fitness coach and Jamil Ddamba as goalkeeping coach among others.
The Leaders will be competing in their third successive season in the Uganda Premeir League and the realistic target is to do better than the previous two campaigns where they have flattered with relegation.
