Young Africans ‘Yanga’ have been crowned as the Tanzania NBC Premier League title for the fifth straight time.
This was after a well-deserved 3-0 NBC League victory against JKT Tanzania at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Prince Dube, Maxi Nzegeli and Clement ‘Depu’ Mzize were on target at Yanga crowned the campaign with a dominant victory.
In 30 games played, Yanga completed the campaign with 75 points in 30 matches. Simba came second with 73 points while Azam sits third on the log with 64 points.
Dube gave Yanga an early lead in the eighth minute taking a 1-0 lead into a halftime break.
JKT Tanzania were reduced to 10 men after Hassan Wahabi was sent off for a cruel challenge.
Six minutes into the second stanza, Maxi Nzengeli doubled Yanga’s lead after being set up by Allan Okello.
Despite joining Yanga in January from Vipers, Okello has been instrumental in the team’s success scoring 14 goals and making six assists in 23 appearances.
