Mikel Merino scored in the 91st minute to inspire Spain to their first quarterfinal since the triumphant 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Spain will take on the winner between the United States of America (USA) and Belgium in the quarterfinals on 10th July 2026 in Inglewood.
They join England, Norway, Morocco, and France, the other already qualified countries, at the quarterfinal stage.
