On the day (4th July 2026), the United States of America (USA) was celebrating 250 years of Independence, a feat well celebrated with a tranquil championship, awesome prizes, enticing dinner, cake and lovely fireworks.

Overall winners:
- Men: Patrick Sumata – 44 points
- Ladies: Eva Assasira – 40 points
The third edition of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Golf tournament will deservedly go down in the annals of history at the lavish Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, Kigo.
This was one fully packaged golfing event that involved different clusters of golfers with a bandwagon of sponsors and partners.

From the elite single handicappers, regular golfers, seniors, the juniors to the beginners, all were actively involved.

AMCHAM Uganda is excited for the golf tournament that happened on the day of celebrating 250 years of independence. We thank all the golfers and the partners who joined hands together to make sure that the event was a success.
By close of business, Patrick Sumata (handicap 18) and Eva Assasira (handicap 36) smiled home with the overall titles having amassed 44 and 40 stableford points respectively.

Both Sumata and Assasira were rewarded with Qatar Airways return tickets apiece to Doha, Qatar.
Elijah Luutu, Kartick Halai and Spencer Sabiiti were groups A, B and C respective winners, earning two tickets each to the Entikko Safari Lodge in Murchison Falls.

Left-handed Gloria Mbaguta championed Group A for ladies whilst Faith Namara was winner in Group B, also taking home two tickets apiece at Entikko Safari Lodge.
The juniors were not left out of the box either with 9 and 19 holes action for the future stars of the game.

Kennan Itiel Tayebwa topped the 9 holes action ahead of Itiel Hanz Tayebwa and Buka Humuza to take home plaques and medals each.

For 18 holes; the Lugazi trio of Joel Okot, Peter Mayende and Derrick Musana were the respective top performers under the male gender.
Rachael Natukunda won the girl’s 18 holes action ahead of Harrshittha Loganathan and Shanita Heri Chebet.

Like the boys, all the three top performing girls also received medals and plaques.
Other rewards were given to Derrick Musana and Rhoda Kimera for the nearest to the pin challenge, sponsored by Case Hospital.






Henry Kibuuka and Gloria Mbaguta came top in the longest drive competition, bankrolled by Reportage Uganda Limited.
Golfers and guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner from Serena Hotel before being treated to colourful fireworks as USA celebrated the momentous 250 years of independence.

Proceeds from this championship will be channeled to Uganda Golf Union (UGU) to assist in the programs of junior golf development across the country in their bold agenda to cover three thirds of the country as well stipulated by the National Council of Sports (NCS).
UGU vice president Paul Charles Rukundo who is also the in-charge of junior golf development graced the prize presentation ceremony.
