Monday, 27th July 2026 is day five at the on-going Commonwealth Games in Glasgow city, Scotland.

Team Uganda returns to action in various disciplines of athletics, boxing, swimming and netball.

At the EDF Scotstoun stadium, Davis Beckham Otim will compete in the long jump (1:50 PM East African time).

Later on, Halima Nakayi shall compete in the 800M heats (9.15pm EAT).

The first medal prospects will come at 10:05 PM (East African Time) when the trio of

Joy Cheptoyek, Rebecca Chelangat and Esther Chebet will compete on in 10,000m women final.

At the Scottish events centre, Ugandan boxer Alfred Ojok, battling in the light heavy weight cluster will take on England’s Dimeju Shittu at 10.45 (E.A.T).

Swimming:

Swimming continues at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

Tara Naluwooza dives to the waters in the 50m Backstroke at 12.59pm EAT.

The Tendo entity of Mukalazi and Kaumi will compete in the 100m Freestyle event at 1.20pm (EAT).

Kirabo Namutebi will compete in the 50m Breaststroke (1.34pm EAT) and para swimmer

Husnah Kukundakwe shall be in action in the SB8 100m Breaststroke (1.53pm EAT)

Netball:

The Uganda Netball She Cranes return for the third game during the championship against Jamaica at The Hydro complex (9 PM, East African Time).

This follows impressive back-to-back victories over Wales as well as Trindad and Tobago.

Against Wales, Uganda by a margin of nine goals 59-50 before humiliating Trindad and Tobago 80-34 in the one-sided show.
