Girls’ Football (Game Day 1)

Amus College School overcame Boni Consili Vocational and Secondary School 1-0 during the 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Association (FEASSA) Games at the Jamhuri Stadium, Morogoro on Friday, 14th August 2026.
Kasifa Kataike was the heroine whose goal spurred Amus College School to victory in a Group B contest.
Kataike was well positioned to beat goalkeeper Sophia Nakkazi from close range in the 18th minute.
Boni Consili came closer to equalising the game when Loyce Komugisha’s free kick struck the crossbar from 20 yards.
“It was a hard-fought but very important victory for us as we started the championship on a positive note. The win gives us morale going forward,” Frank “Video” Anyau, head coach at Amus College, commented.
The other Group B encounter witnessed St Joseph’s Girls Kitale (Kenya) draw goalless with Tanzania’s Alliance SS at the Highlands’ facility.
Group A:
In Group A, Uganda’s current champions Rines Secondary School also needed a 1-0 victory over Tanzania’s Ziba at the Jamuhuri Stadium.
Trinah Nakawuki scored arguably the fastest goal of the tourney thus far, finding the back of the net under 50 seconds from kick-off.
Elsewhere, Nyakach Girls (Kenya) and Uganda’s Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) shared the spoils 1-all.
There was also action in boys’ football at the various playgrounds around the mountainous Morogoro.
This year’s competition has schools from Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and Uganda.
Uganda is the reigning overall champion.
