Girls’ Football (Game Day 1):

- Nyakach Girls (Kenya) 1-1 Jinja Progressive Academy (Uganda)
- St Joseph’s Girls Kitale (Kenya) 0-0 Alliance (Tanzania)
Uganda’s current women’s football champions Rines Secondary School opened their FEASSA Games 2026 account on a positive footing with a spirited 1-0 victory over Tanzania’s Ziba at the Jamuhuri Stadium on Friday, 14th August.
Trinah Nakawuki scored arguably the fastest goal of the tourney thus far, finding the back of the net under 50 seconds from kick-off.
The scoreline would have doubled and even read in double figures had skipper Justine Ayerango, Halima Mupyanga, Jovia Nakirya and Zuena Nandego tightened the laces of their goal-scoring boots.
Ziba SS held on with solid defensive strategy from their goalkeeper Hamis Rahma Abdallah, captain Hawa Haji Ramadhan and other players.
Elsewhere; Nyakach Girls (Kenya) and Uganda’s Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) shared the spoils 1-all.
Rines SS will turn face Nyakach Girls on Saturday, 15th August 2026 at the Ujenzi stadium (3 PM).
JIPRA takes on Fountain Gate at the same venue (11 am), still on the same day.
Group B:
In pool B; Amus College School beat Boni Consili Vocational and Secondary School 1-0 at the Jamhuri stadium, Morogoro on Friday morning.
Kasifa Kataike got the goal for Amus College School, who play St Joseph’s Kitale at the same venue on Saturday morning (9 AM).
There was also action in boys’ football both at secondary and primary level.
Other games:
Besides football, the other games being played are Rugby, Netball, Volleyball, Hockey, Athletics, Swimming, Cricket, Baseball & Softball, Tennis, Scrabble, Chess and others.
Secondary, primary schools as well as institutions for special needs children are all in action.
The official opening ceremony for the games is on Sunday, 16th August 2026 at the Jamhuri Stadium.
